Socks

I did a fair amount of walking today looking for suits with Donovan and Lena. I had no problems with my feet. The big difference was that I wore SmartWool socks. These are heavy duty docks that offer a lot of padding and come at a heavy duty price. They go for $20 per pair at REI. Donovan thinks it makes his feet stink but I haven’t noticed it. Maybe if I had perspired more I would notice. I figure I’ll just wear these on our hike to Half Dome.

Update – Morning 1:
The socks were pretty wet this morning. I’m wondering if they will even have a chance to dry by the end of the day.

Update – Evening 1:

Socks were still too wet to wear.  They should be fine by Morning 2 though.

Shan Dong Restaurant

I’m starving right now. Walking around looking for suits killed me. Need something quick. Nothing’s faster than Chinese food…well maybe McDonald’s but I already had that last week. On a suggestion from Yelp, I’m at Shan Dong Restaurant but I’m not getting what they are known for. I’m just getting their combination fried rice. They’re just down the street so I can try their other foods later but for now, I need some carbs in preparation for tomorrow’s tennis match.

Photos below show the restaurant storefront, fresh buns that they make right there, and what I had for dinner.  Obviously, I’m going to have to go back and try out the buns.  I just felt like I had too much bun-type food today for lunch.

Kingdom of Dumplings

Had lunch with Donovan and Lena today. We ate at Kingdom of Dumplings. It’s a small hole-in-the-wall joint in San Francisco. Got there early for lunch which was good because by the time lunch rolled around, the place was packed. We had three different kinds of dumplings, lamb skewers, and a sesame bun with black bean inards for dessert. Service was a little slow on our second round of ordering but the place was packed by then.

Here’s what my place looks like when it’s in good shape.
