Dinner

Having dinner at Tai Shan in Chinatown. Had a really long day today. We started at 9:30 so we could get badges and now it’s 9:30.

Fortunately, I’m eating at Tai Shan restaurant in chinatown and getting ready to go home. I ordered way too much food for myself but I’ll take it home and eat it later. I ordered General Tso’s chicken, combination fried rice, and a tsingtao beer. The food really isn’t very good. The chicken is a bit dry and they poured way too much sticky, red sauce over it. It was like an overkilled sweet and sour pork dish but with chicken instead.

The fried rice is incredibly salty. It’s dark. Probably spilled some soy sauce in here or something. I’ll take the left-overs home but something tells me that this is a loss. The seafood part is comprised of very small shrimp. I’ve never seen shrimp this small in a restaurant dish. It’s hard to identify them because again, the dish is so dark.

For $30, I could have had a lot more food and much better quality in Oakland Chinatown.

Breakfast

I’m down the street from my hotel eating at Dunkin’ Donuts. Coffee here is bad. It’s got a sour taste to it.

Right now, the place is packed with people. They’ve got two people working the counter but they’re overloaded. I suspect they spend most of the rest of the day just hanging out though.

I’ve got to figure out what to do about breakfast on Wednesday because we’re going to be nearing at 5 AM. I don’t really need that much food. Some coffee in the morning to get re brain working is all I need. I’ll have to see if the Starbucks really is open 24 hours or at least open early on the morning.
